This is the new Gilded Age. It hasn’t been like this since the 1920s. The top 1% hold 40% of the wealth in this country while 22% of children live in poverty? That can be changed, but it will take tenacious action by people who understand the economic and social injustice. 2.3 million people are imprisoned, by far the worst incarceration rate in the world. 60% of them are Black and Latino, when only they 30% of the population. Tax cuts for the wealthy are equivalent to a 3 million dollar raise for the richest 160,000 people when people are losing their homes and students who take out loans to pay their tuition are unable to pay them and have massive debts hanging over their heads. Enormous capital gains, of 50%, are being made by people who are passively sitting by making investments while working people are struggling.

We know these massive changes, including the ratcheting up of the imperial presidency has never seen, are going to keep happening unless we all stand up together, organize, take tenacious and sustained action to let those in power know that we are not going to give up until we see fundamental change in our nation.
